Montmorency Cherry

A species of tart cherry that is widely cultivated for its juicy, sour cherries. The Montmorency cherry tree is a cold-hardy hybrid species that ripens early in the season. The medium-large bright red fruit has a firm yellow flesh; clear juice; and a rich, tart flavor that bakers and jam makers love. Montmorency sour cherry is the ultimate cooking cherry, bright red, with yellow flesh and clear juice.  Spreading tree around 15 ft. when mature. Disease resistant and easier to grow than sweet cherries. Self-fruitful.  Grafted on Mahaleb rootstock.
